The Only Bad Decision, Is Making No Decision At All

For many years I felt paralyzed from making decisions. It was as if my intuition took a vacation and I could no longer discern what it was I truly wanted. I teeter-totted between option a + option b, and when my mind was especially chatty that day, options c, d, e, + f.

I did not know where to turn. I did not know how to decide. I was petrified that any decision I made would be wrong and hurt not only myself, but others. It was a terrible place to be.

My dad told me to start small - just make one decision. And so I did. One, by one, by one. Suddenly, my life began to open up. Suddenly, my life began to shift.

Have you had that experience?

It reminds me of a time my friend was struggling with the decision to break up with her live-in boyfriend at the time. ‘But what about our two-year lease?’ ‘How I will find a place to live?’ Luckily, I had the experience of Universe-guided decision making under my belt and offered her this, ‘When you make a decision, with the intention to feel good, the Universe will work out the logistics.’ I am happy to report that she has since dumped said boyfriend, gotten married, and lives happily ever after.

If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the Universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

The Universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.

By making a decision - any decision - you are letting the Universe know the direction that you want to go in and giving it the permission to place the right people, opportunities, and circumstances on your path to give you your heart’s desires. By choosing something, you set a domino effect in motion to receive everything.

If you still don’t know what your heart wants, trust that the Universe does, because they do. The only thing more powerful than making a decision, is your heart’s ability to attract what it truly wants and the Universe’s ability to deliver it - whether you consciously choose it or not. Your heart’s desires trump all of the yes’s or no’s that you decide, so take solace in knowing that your heart won’t steer you wrong.

If you’re looking for a reason to step forward or back, to this side or that, just look behind you and know that the Universe has your back.

xx,

J.
